One and Half Beards out of Five.
There was definitely one scene taken from Drunken Master.
Other than shoddy editing, fight choreography was great and so was Yuen Siu-tien.

Dune: Part Two

Dune: Part Two is a worthy sequel to the first movie. In scope and spirit, it captures the space opera with the cinematic necessity to have a short plot to hold the interests of the viewer. It is a must-watch. Whatever feelings were generated while watching the first movie were not only reexperienced, but also appropriately heightened. The hype was real. I saw it at Jio Plaza Bandra. The entire travel expense there was less than the ticket cost and way cheaper than going to Palladium. Mumbai public transport is next level. It was a 9:30 AM show. Total attendance: 4. I think the greatest contribution of this movie to the cinematic experience is the painstaking paintings that are the frames. The visualization of every set piece captured by the camera is breathtaking. Vast. Expansive. Makes you feel the magnitude of every action, which is indeed galaxy-spanning in its effects. You can feel this alien world. The colours used, and the lighting of it all. I do not know how it can be both...

Gangubai Kathiawadi

|| Shree Ajay Devgn Prasanna || Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a painter. Like all his other movies, he knows how to create the most gorgeous camera frames. Colourful, magnificent, lavish. Exciting, epic. Even filled with horror, lonely, suffocating, filthy. And so after The Batman, and Jhund, this movie brought forth the spectacle of Bollywood. And I loved it for that. The next movie I plan to see is The Kashmir Files. So this was a necessary breather, and the movie needed post-pandemic. I felt, "Yes, aaj mi picture pahun alo." The story is based on an actual Gangubai who was a very interesting person in her own right, and obviously unknown in the mainstream media. Here is her wiki page in...

Downtown Abbey

While it is true that you needn't have followed the series to grasp the movie (it is a one-off in a way), it'll definitely be immensely pleasurable if you have. On top of that if you have someone who has watched it to give you company. in my case, Tanisha Dhakephalkar, then the pre-movie excitement, during-movie comments and post-movie discussion has its own vibrant colour reminiscent of rang-pachami. We both collectively breathed in audibly when the music started. The opening scene echoed the opening of S01E01: a letter being delivered at Downtown. That was beautiful. Meeting all the characters, now slightly older, grown, but with the same charm was like a "welcome back to family". Umbridge v. McGonagall was excellent. It was nice to see Isobel get into form too. Daisy was a firecracker! Tom, Lady Mary were both cute. All the women's gowns were so classy! The movie, was in its entirety, an extended episode. Several small arcs, all resolved towards the end...
