The Incredibles 2

Jack-Jack is sooo cute!

A family movie, so I went with my sisters Sanika and Nupur. This time, all the way to R-Deccan. Probably my third movie there. I realized too late that they could recline. However, it was raining and the traffic to reach there was massive. It is advisable to leave from Aundh at least 45 minutes in advance for a peak-hour show (7:15). When we first came down JM Road, we missed the parking entrance (it is disguised as a BBQ Nation/Dominoes parking). Plus end of JM road lacks parking for cars. So we had to take another round. As usual, do not forget, Pune is a city meant for two-wheelers and metro construction work.

The seats were comfrotablish. Rs. 200 (+30 (parking for car)) Rs. tickets. for a Saturday evening show on second day. Worth it.

Jack-Jack is sooo cute.

We were late by 15 minutes, yet luckily we didn't miss anything important. Though sadly we did miss a short-film.

With action better than the Avengers series, character arc and character development that is full and wholesome, the 14 years of wait were worth it. There were as many adults as there were kids and I think the makers well realized that, and hence the films was crafted with enough chuckles for new viewers and kids (but please, for the love of humanity, don't take kids. Jack-Jack is the only cute baby allowed in the theatre because Jack-Jack is sooo cute). One girl continuously spoke and another baby cried.

But anyway, the movie is just good entertainment at its best, and not a movie to be missed.

Edna Mode is perfect. Jack-Jack is sooo cute! Dash growing up, Violet having adolescence. Mr. Incredible trying to be himself. Voyd, Krushauer are good.

And Screenslaver! Such critique on modern society is unexpected but touching. But who or what is this movie about? Mr. Incredible 'growing up'? Elastigirl finding her identity and independence? Modern parenting? Feminism? Superheroes? 'The others'? Jack-Jack who is sooo cute?

It was about family. K3G. Karan Johar scaled up and given meaning (if that is possible).

Otherwise the story and villain, I predicted, and I suppose any person will within the first few secs. But then again, it is not a suspense movie or detective or adventure. It is about living and reliving the nostalgia. And then trying to find the answer to "was growing-up worth it?"

As Omkar Yarguddi, whom I met in the theatre said, it is rare for a sequel to be as good as the first one, and even rarer, to be better.

Jack-Jack is...well you can complete that sentence yourself.
