Trimurti

I returned home to my parents watching three kids overacting on Zee Action and they desperately guessing who they will grow up to be. I was hooked.

A very interesting concept of how kids can interpret advice their parents give. Anil Kapoor becomes a successful (I really wonder when I am going to stop using auto-correct to correct that spelling) criminal who ends up working with their mother's framer (more on that, later), Jackie Shroff a poor, hard-working but upright soldier working in an ammunition factory. Shah Rukh Khan confused between the two, takes both paths and ends up forging his own, working with Dhokla Singh. No Hookah Singh. Khoka Singh. Yes that was it.

So their mother is framed by this meat-feasting, devi-fanatic, singing and dancing mad 'kaala dhanda' doer. A wonderful performance by Dr. Mohan Agashe. And everyday, she being a devi-bhakt lights three divas in front of a murti in the jail. She tells her narrator-cum-placeholder exposition delivery mechanism-cum-caretaker Saeed Jaffrey to tell her children that their mom is dead. These kids will grow up to be her 'trimurti' (don't tell me you didn't see that coming).

Some bad green-screening and forgettable songs later, throw in a Patanjali trademarked Panditji who prophecies that the trimurti will kill Khoka Singh (Jal Se, Tal Se, Gagan Se). Shah Rukh Khan who was supposed to kill his mother after she was released early discovers her in the helicopter but falls down with her and later is sighted in a river. Shroff marches through the jungle. And surprise, Anil Harrison Ford Kapoor comes in his own helicopter (echo prophecy). Till then Anil's adoptive father (he had run away during childhood because he sold daaru and got money and fought with child Shroff who said this is 'kaala dhanda' money) is killed by a snake under Khoka's control because he had transferred those many years ago Rs. 50,000 only/- to this person's account to kill young Anil to make Satyadevi's children a bimurti.

Anyway Satyadevi throws a trishul into him at the end and the trimurti reforge in khoon and kichad and give Khoka Singh parvatonke hawale.

End with Saaed Jaffrey saying "Ye dekho teri trimurti!"
